We catch up with Emma McQueen, Senior Sales and Product Executive for Ski Club Holidays, on the chairlift
∆ S+B How did you end up working at the Ski Club?
EM After I left school I completed a ski instructor course in Copper Mountain, Colorado before studying Sports Education at university and then doing an MA in Sports Management. I worked in Wimbledon one summer and kept walking past the Ski Club White House. Skiing is my big passion, so I applied for a job at the Club and got it four years ago.
∆ S+B Do you have a favourite ski resort?
EM Having done my ski instructor course in Colorado, my ski knowledge is very focused on North America. I know Copper Mountain really well and loved skiing in the surrounding resorts, such as Breckenridge and A-Basin (my favourite small resort). But, overall, my favourite resort would be Jackson Hole, both for the mountain and the town.
∆ S+B On-piste or off-piste?
EM I think I love skiing in North America exactly because you don’t have to choose – it’s all in-bounds and I love skiing all-mountain terrain. Nothing beats carving down a long, cruisey run.
∆ S+B Après-ski beer or vin chaud?
EM Hot chocolate!
