SKI CLUB APPOINTS GENERAL MANAGER
The Ski Club welcomes James Gambrill as General Manager
The Ski Club is delighted to announce the appointment of a General Manager, James Gambrill. The Club Chairman, Trevor Campbell Davis, welcomes James and says that his experience and passion for snow sports will further strengthen the combined team of staff and Council as the Club prepares for a return to the mountains next season.
As established Members might know, James has a long history with the Club, having joined the Freshtracks team back in 1997 and completed a Reps course the following year. An accomplished skier and qualified BASI Level 2 ski instructor, James has worked his way up through the ski industry from boot fitting through managing special events at Skiworld to working as managing director of Travelplan Ski Ltd and Whistler Experience.
He has subsequently started his own marketing company; founded LISTEX, an annual B2B snowsports industry event; and co-founded Mountain Trade Network, a virtual and live platform to connect all those working within the global mountain and ski economy. This extensive experience in the snowsports industry means James brings with him a wealth of pertinent marketing, business and financial management skills.
We asked James for his thoughts on his new role with the Club:
“I am hugely excited to come home to the Ski Club, in what feels like a return to where I started my career, and I look forward to playing my part in helping it to forge ahead for another 118 years.”
We hope that you’ll join us in giving James the warmest of Ski Club welcomes.
