SKI CLUB AGM A VIRTUAL SUCCESS
The Ski Club’s 114th Annual General Meeting took place on 25 November over Zoom, attended by more than 100 Members
Discussion at the Ski Club’s 114th AGM was led by the Chairman, Trevor Campbell Davis, as well as the Club’s General Manager James Gambrill and new Deputy Chairman, Angus Maciver, covering the financial position of the Club before this season and the ongoing challenge posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Financial discussions focused on the positive result of the 2020/21 financial year, despite extremely difficult operating conditions and the loss of the entire Freshtracks and Mountain Tracks holiday programme. The Club returned a growth in cash reserves thanks to a well performing investment portfolio and effective cost-cutting measures implemented throughout the year.
The ongoing success of the Club’s travel insurance scheme was noted, especially after launching at the height of the pandemic. This success, combined with a growing membership base in the lead up to the season, lent a positive note to proceedings.
Trevor Campbell Davis welcomed new members of the Ski Club Council, who will assist staff and existing Council members to continue to build on the solid foundation put in place over the previous two years.
Trevor also announced his intention to stand down from his position as Chairman in the summer of 2022, and, via a poll of Members present, confirmed Angus Maciver as Deputy Chairman with a view to taking over the reins when this occurs.
